The services of architects are divided into work stages in accordance with service phases 1-9 as defined by the HOAI (Official Scale of Fees for Services by Architects and Engineers). Almost always, however, a comprehensive phase of needs assessment is required in advance of service phase 1, phase 0 – also called programming or requirements planning. We advise companies, businesses and associations that are considering a new building or are looking for, optimizing, expanding or remodeling rental space. Especially when a company acts as a building owner, a thorough analysis of the actual requirements of all stakeholders is needed.
During this phase, many questions arise: How do we want to work? What are our requirements for the premises? How can we promote the corporate culture through new premises? In close cooperation with the client, we determine needs and goals, review cost expectations and create a precise planning framework. We prepare this data for our clients in a clear and understandable way. We organize workshops and, if desired, take care of internal communication.
A successful phase 0 protects against mistakes and misunderstandings in later service phases!
