In the summer of 2023, we were commissioned to design a house in a suburban development that, in addition to a main apartment of around 100 square meters, would also include a granny apartment for potential rental.The starting point for the design idea was the property’s large, wild garden and the associated need for the greatest possible visual and spatial connection to it:

The living room and kitchen are designed as a spatial continuum along the garden façade on the first floor and second floor. A covered terrace on the first floor is also intended to mediate between the garden and living space during transitional periods.

The design was supplemented with a spacious roof terrace that follows the concept of the raised garden. The garden on the first floor is reserved for the main apartment, the roof garden for the granny apartment.

Thanks to the internal development, the house can be transformed and accommodate other forms of living, such as shared flats or a large family.
