In cooperation with Syspons GmbH and Jakobs Fuchs Ingenieure, we took over the requirements planning, the communication concept and the analysis of the properties for the Simmern district administration in order to develop solutions for their further development.

The district administration in Simmern is in a special situation due to its inner-city location and the resulting role as an attractor for the city center. From an urban planning point of view, the proximity to the citizens through the services offered by the authorities should be viewed positively, as it creates short distances and contributes to the revitalization of the city centre. Visits to the authorities, shopping, doctor’s appointments and much more are possible within a short distance, as they are in the immediate vicinity.

The potential for conversion, renovation and expansion of the property at its current location should therefore be carefully examined and comprehensively evaluated. Alternative spatial scenarios (new building, partial new building, supplementary building, a mix with external rental space) and the resulting consequences were evaluated in the light of this special role of the administration in the lives of the citizens and in the urban context of Simmern.

The large number of affected and interested parties, be they employees of the authority, (political) representatives or the citizens of Simmern, required a carefully planned communication and participation concept. As a precautionary measure, the affected interest groups were already informed and involved in the requirements planning process.

The aim of the Simmern district administration is the sustainable development of its properties, including any additional rental space that may be required and a sustainable utilization concept that takes current and future requirements into account.
